Ukraine, Tajani: “Today I will speak with Rubio, support for US initiative”

Brussels, Dec. 3 (LaPresse) – “We will talk with the United States. Today I will speak with Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Transatlantic unity is fundamental; the unity of the West is the precondition for building peace and stability. I will talk about the situation in the East, in South America, there are many topics to discuss. We will talk about Ukraine, of course.” This is what Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said at a press point upon his arrival at the NATO foreign ministers’ meeting in Brussels. “We support the American initiative to build peace both in the Middle East and in Ukraine. That is the goal. Small steps forward are being made and this is a positive development. Then, of course, it will be necessary to understand how the Ukrainians intend to move with regard to territorial issues. In the meantime, we will continue to help them until there is peace. We have sent the twelfth aid package in terms of defence support, these are sanctions, and discussions are under way on frozen assets,” he stressed.
