Rome, Dec. 3 (LaPresse) – The military wing of Hamas, the al‑Qassam Brigades, said in a post on social media that the body of a hostage has been recovered in Beit Lahiya, in the northern Gaza Strip, and that in the afternoon, at 5 p.m. local time, the remains will be handed over to Israel. Beit Lahiya lies on the Hamas‑controlled side of Gaza’s ceasefire line. The bodies of two hostages killed on 7 October 2023 are still in Gaza: police chief sergeant Ran Gvili, killed while repelling the Hamas‑led attack on Kibbutz Alumim, and Sudthisak Rinthalak, a Thai citizen killed in Kibbutz Beeri, where he worked as a farm labourer.
