Regeni case, Constitutional Court hearing scheduled for January 14

Rome, Dec. 4 (LaPresse) – The hearing before the Constitutional Court on the issue raised by the defence teams of the four defendants in the trial for the murder of Giulio Regeni has been scheduled for January 14, 2026. The matter on which the Court will have to rule concerns legal expenses incurred by the defence for their technical experts, particularly those related to transcribers and interpreters. The case files were sent to the Constitutional Court by the president of the First Assize Court of Rome, Paola Roia, following a request by the defence lawyers of the four Egyptian intelligence officers on trial.
