Memphis (Tennessee, United States), 4 December (LaPresse) – Steve Cropper, one of the founders of Booker T. and the M.G.’s and member of the Blues Brothers band with John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd, has died at the age of 84. According to the musician’s family, he passed away yesterday in Nashville, but the cause of death has not yet been determined. Eddie Gore, a long-time collaborator, said he visited Cropper last Tuesday at a rehabilitation facility in Nashville, where the guitarist was staying following a fall. ‘He’s a really good person,’ Gore said. ‘We were lucky to have him, no doubt about it.’ His hits include “Soul Man”, “Green Onions”, “Hang ‘Em High” and “Time Is Tight”.
