Coppa Italia: Bologna-Parma 2-1, Castro seals comeback in the final minutes

Milan, 4 December (LaPresse) – Bologna comes from behind to beat Parma 2-1 and qualify for the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia, a trophy it currently holds. In the next round, Italiano’s team will face the winner of tonight’s match between Lazio and Milan at the Olimpico. Parma started the first half better, taking the lead in the 13th minute with Benedyczak beating Ravaglia with a fine left-footed shot from Lovik’s assist. The Ducali came close to doubling their lead on at least three occasions. However, after a slow start and several errors in the build-up, Bologna came back into the game as the minutes passed and found the equaliser thanks to a burst of energy from Rowe in the 38th minute. The striker first hit the post and then slotted home from Bernardeschi’s pass. In the second half, Italiano’s team pushed forward with greater determination and came close to doubling their lead through Lucumì. Parma, however, were not to be outdone, with Lovik coming close to scoring. In the final minutes, when penalties seemed inevitable, it was Castro who scored the winning goal for Bologna with a precise header from the centre of the box.
