Ukraine, Xi-Macron: ‘Support for efforts towards a fair and lasting peace agreement’

Turin, 5 December (LaPresse) – China and France ‘have agreed to promote reform and improvement of global governance’. This was stated by Chinese President Xi Jinping regarding his meeting with the French President. Xi added that ‘they agreed to intensify strategic communication and coordination, to defend the international system with the United Nations at its core and the international order based on international law, and to work towards a more just and equitable global governance system,’ CCTV emphasised in its report. Regarding the Ukrainian crisis, the Chinese president said that Beijing ‘supports all efforts for peace and hopes that all parties can reach a fair, lasting and binding peace agreement, accepted by all parties involved through dialogue and negotiation.’ He added that China ‘will continue to play a constructive role in the political resolution of the crisis, firmly opposing any irresponsible actions that shirk responsibility or distort the situation.’
