France, media: “Drones fly over submarine naval base, artillery responds”

Turin, Dec. 5 (LaPresse) – Five drones flew over the Ile Longue submarine base in the roadstead of Brest on Thursday evening, which hosts France’s nuclear deterrent ballistic missile submarines. This was reported by the local gendarmerie, according to French media, which added that a defense and aircraft search system was activated. According to the same source, the naval artillery battalion responsible for protecting the base fired several shots at the drones. The site is guarded by 120 naval gendarmes in coordination with the riflemen.
