Rome, 8 December (LaPresse) – A group of Palestinian children in serious health conditions, evacuated from the Gaza Strip together with their families, left Eilat and will arrive in Italy tonight to receive specialised medical treatment in Italian hospitals. This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The humanitarian convoy, consisting of three special Air Force flights bound for Rome, Turin and Pratica di Mare, will transport 17 patients, together with their families and carers, for a total of 80 people. In Rome, the plane will be welcomed by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. Those welcomed will be transferred to various Italian hospitals, where they will receive the necessary specialist medical care: these include the Bambino Gesù Hospital, the Gemelli Polyclinic and the Umberto I Polyclinic in Rome, the Santobono and Colli Hospital in Naples, the Regina Margherita Hospital in Turin, the University Hospital of Padua, the Gaslini Institute in Genoa, the Niguarda Hospital in Milan, the Perugia Hospital and the San Gerardo Hospital in Monza. The operation, coordinated by the Prime Minister’s Office, involved the Foreign Ministry working with the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of the Interior and the Department of Civil Protection, as well as collaboration with the WHO and the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
