Rome: Christmas tree lit up in Piazza del Popolo, Gualtieri kicks off the festivities

Milan, 8 December (LaPresse) – The Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, and the President of Acea, Barbara Marinali, inaugurated the Christmas tree in Piazza del Popolo and the lights in Via del Corso, thus confirming the tradition that officially kicks off the end-of-year festivities in the capital, in an edition made even more significant by the Jubilee Year. The event, coinciding with the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, was hosted in the square by Noemi and enlivened by the participation of the children’s choir of the Choral Singing School of the Rome Opera House, the Coro che non c’è choir and the Anonima Armonisti choir. The Christmas tree, an Abies Nordmanniana over 20 metres tall, was created thanks to the collaboration between Roma Capitale and the economic operator Rattiflora Sas, which supplied the tree and decorated it with gold, silver and red baubles. The lighting, designed by Blu Notte Eventi Lighting Design, used low-energy technologies, in line with the principles of environmental sustainability promoted by Roma Capitale.
