Washington (US), Dec. 9 (LaPresse) – Donald Trump’s envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, have reportedly given Volodymyr Zelenskyy a few “days” to respond to a proposed peace agreement that would require Ukraine to accept territorial losses in exchange for unspecified US security guarantees. This was reported by the Financial Times, citing sources familiar with the matter. The Ukrainian president himself told European allies about the pressure he received during a two-hour phone call on Saturday with the two US envoys. A person familiar with the proposed timeline in Kiev, the FT writes, said the US president hopes for an agreement “by Christmas.” Zelenskyy, the sources said, told US envoys that he needed time to consult with other European allies before responding to Washington’s proposal.
