Brussels, 11 December (LaPresse) – On the sidelines of the Eurogroup meeting in Brussels, there was a meeting between Finance Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti and ECB President Christine Lagarde on the issue of the Bank of Italy’s gold management. The letter sent by Giorgetti, in which he clarifies that the availability and management of the Italian people’s gold reserves are the responsibility of the Bank of Italy and in accordance with European treaties, but that the gold reserves belong to the Italian people, ‘puts an end to the matter and everything is clarified.’ This was reported by sources at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
