Milan, 12 December (LaPresse) – Iranian human rights groups have stated that Iranian security forces arrested Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi and several other activists during a funeral ceremony in the north-eastern city of Mashhad. Mohammadi, who was sentenced to a total of 13 years and nine months in prison on national security charges, had been temporarily released from Evin Prison in Tehran on health grounds. The Narges Mohammadi Foundation reported that Mohammadi was arrested while attending the seventh-day mourning ceremony for Khosrow Alikordi, a prominent human rights lawyer whose recent death sparked public outrage. The foundation added that activists Sepideh Gholian, Hasti Amiri, Pouran Nazemi, Alieh Motalebzadeh and many others were also arrested.
