Rome, 17 December (LaPresse) – ‘The issue of the high cost of living is particularly close to our hearts, but if I may say so, with regard to some statements I heard a few days ago, that Italians have empty refrigerators… Now it seems a little irresponsible to me to portray Italy as if it were a country with masses of people who are undernourished and malnourished due to a lack of food.’ This was stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during her response in the Chamber of Deputies following the debate on communications ahead of the European Council.
Government, Meloni to Schlein: ‘Empty fridge? It’s irresponsible to portray Italy like that.’
