Milan, 24 December (LaPresse) – Three people have died after a car explosion in Moscow, according to Tass. Two police officers were killed in the blast while stopping a suspicious person in the south of the Russian capital, and the suspect also died, according to the press office of the Russian Investigative Committee. According to the investigation, in the early hours of 24 December, two traffic police officers saw a suspicious person near their patrol car on Yeletskaya Street in Moscow. When they approached to stop him, an explosive detonated. The two police officers and the suspect died, the press office said. The Investigative Committee added that criminal proceedings had been opened. Investigators and forensic experts are examining the scene of the incident and ascertaining all the circumstances, Tass reports. They are also interviewing eyewitnesses and analysing video footage. Today’s explosion occurred in an area of the city not far from where a device placed under a car killed General Fanil Sarvarov this week.
