Rome, 25 Dec. (LaPresse) – “Dear brothers and sisters, since the Word became flesh, now the flesh speaks, crying out the divine desire to meet us. The Word has pitched his fragile tent among us. And how can we not think of the tents in Gaza, exposed for weeks to rain, wind and cold, and those of so many other refugees and displaced persons on every continent, or the makeshift shelters of thousands of homeless people in our cities?” Thus Pope Leo XIV in his homily during Christmas Day Mass. With Christmas, even if no one seems to believe it, ‘peace exists and is already among us,’ the pontiff emphasised. ‘Today, therefore, we are not only surprised by the peace that is already here, but we celebrate how this gift has been given to us. In how, in fact, the divine difference shines through, making us burst into songs of joy. Thus, throughout the world, Christmas is par excellence a celebration of music and song,’ concluded the Holy Father.
