Ukraine, negotiations underway on Zaporizhzhia for joint Russian-US management

Rome, 25 December (LaPresse) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that the United States and Russia are discussing the possibility of jointly managing the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, occupied by Russia since 2022, without Ukraine’s involvement, according to the pro-Kremlin newspaper Kommersant. Putin said that the United States has expressed interest in the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant as a facility for cryptocurrency mining. At the same time, he said that Ukraine’s participation in the management of the plant is not expected. According to Putin, on the initiative of the United States, the possibility of supplying electricity to Ukraine from the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is being considered.
