Milan, 26 December (LaPresse) – Russia and the US are closer to resolving the conflict in Ukraine, but Kiev and its EU partners have redoubled their efforts to ‘torpedo the agreement’. This is what Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in an interview with the programme “60 Minutes” on Russian television channel Rossija 1, according to Russian news agencies. “I think that 25 December 2025 will remain in our memories as a milestone, when we came close, really close, to a solution. But whether we will be able to give the final push and reach an agreement will depend on us, on our work, on the political will of the other side,‘ Ryabkov said, adding that Ukraine and its European partners are not focused on an agreement but have ’redoubled their efforts to scupper it”.
