Rome, Jan. 1 (LaPresse) – “We are setting up a task force to provide all information on site to the families of possible Italians involved. We cannot rule out that Italians are involved in this tragedy, but we have no information about it because it is very, very difficult to carry out checks even on the identity of the victims.” This was stated by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in a telephone link with Skytg24. Regarding the involvement of Italians in the tragedy in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, Tajani added that “it is very, very difficult to carry out checks even on the identity of the victims because, sadly, the fire devastated them. It will take weeks, perhaps, to understand who the victims are and to identify them.” The head of the Italian Foreign Ministry specified that the Italian government is following the evolution of the situation in Crans-Montana minute by minute. “I informed Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni from the early morning. The Civil Protection of the Aosta Valley is in action, and the Lombardy Region has made the Niguarda major burns center available.”
