Greenland, Wadephul: ‘I do not expect US military intervention’

Frankfurt (Germany), 13 January (LaPresse) – German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, after a meeting with his US counterpart Marco Rubio in Washington, said he did not expect US military action to annex Greenland. ‘I have no indication that this is being seriously considered,’ Wadephul said. ‘I believe there is a common interest in addressing and resolving security issues that arise in the Arctic region,’ he added. At the same time, the German minister stressed that, as far as issues concerning Greenland and Denmark are concerned, it is up to them to decide.
