Hamas funds, Piantedosi to the House: ‘Associations linked to Hannoun’

Milan, 14 Jan. (LaPresse) – After 7 October 2023, investigations focused ‘on Hannoun and other members of the Beneficent Association of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in relation to the hypothesis of international terrorism’. This was stated by Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi in a report to the Chamber of Deputies, adding that the investigation ‘focuses on the fact that Hannoun was the head of the Italian cell of Hamas based in Genoa, aimed at carrying out propaganda and financing Hamas through secondary and servant associations’. ‘In particular, the investigations have revealed the existence of two associations, the aforementioned Associazione Benefica di Solidarietà al Popolo Palestinese and the parallel voluntary organisation, both based in Genoa and with local bases in Milan and Rome, which are unequivocally linked to Hannoun’s profile,’ said the head of the Interior Ministry.
