Rome, 16 January (LaPresse) – ‘I’m happy to start again in Melbourne, at the Australian Open, which is a special tournament for me.’ So said Jannik Sinner to SuperTennis on Media Day on the eve of the first Grand Slam of the season. The two-time defending champion could become only the fourth player to win three consecutive titles in the history of the men’s singles tournament after Jack Crawford (1931-33), Roy Emerson (1963-67) and Novak Djokovic (2011-13, 2019-21). He arrives confident and relaxed. ‘The best thing was spending Christmas at home and New Year’s Eve with my friends Antonio Giovinazzi, Giulio Ciccone and their families. It was a really wonderful evening,’ he said.
