Duties, Steinmeier: ‘Discouraging US departure from transatlantic principles’

Frankfurt (Germany), 4 Apr (LaPresse) – ‘It is discouraging to see how the new US administration is rapidly attacking the rules and principles of our transatlantic partnership, which were previously considered safe and binding’. This was stated by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier during an event in Münster. Steinmeier stressed that it is ‘shocking to see how quickly an image of society, of the democratic community, of human coexistence is being radically challenged and fundamentally changed, and how much support there is for this’.
