Kronplatz (Bolzano), Jan. 20 (LaPresse) – Almost 300 days after her dramatic injury in Val di Fassa, Federica Brignone returned to World Cup skiing with an excellent sixth place in the Kronplatz giant slalom. The victory went to Austrian Julia Scheib, who came from behind with a total time of 2’19”85, second place to Swiss Camille Rast at +0.37, and third to Swedish Sara Hector at +0.46, who had been leading after the first run. Brignone gained one position in the second run, finishing +1.23 behind the leader. Ahead of the Italian were also American Mikaela Shiffrin, fourth at +0.86, and Polish Maryna Gasienica Daniel, fifth at +1.01.
