Signorini case: lawyers ask judges to block next episode of Corona

Rome, 20 January. (LaPresse) – Alfonso Signorini’s lawyers – Daniela Missaglia and Domenico Aiello – have filed an appeal for urgent measures to request ‘the urgent intervention of the judicial authorities not only to remove the content already published, but also to prevent further publication and dissemination by Mr. Corona, in order to protect the rights of the appellant and his privacy.’ Fabrizio Corona himself announced this on social media, publishing excerpts from the document in which the lawyers point out that Corona ‘not only continued to publish illegal content even after the criminal investigation was launched and the seizure against him,’ but “expressly announced that on 26 January he will publish an episode featuring the appellant (Alfonso Signorini, Ed.) with extraordinary impact and irreparably serious content’. “The publication of further defamatory content,” it continues, “would result in an irreversible aggravation of the damage suffered by Dr Signorini. Once made public, such content can be downloaded, shared and replicated by anyone”, making any subsequent attempt at removal ‘partial, ineffective and powerless in the face of what is now uncontrollable dissemination. When the damage is done, they point out, there will be nothing left to do, with devastating effects on the personal and professional life of the journalist, who has already been forced to suspend all his activities with devastating effects on his mental and physical integrity. Corona comments: ‘I think Signorini’s lawyers have misunderstood. See you on Thursday at the hearing, I can’t wait. Get ready for Monday’s episode of “The Price of Success: Final Part” because what you will see and hear will make you understand once and for all the complex and criminal Signorini system.‘ He concludes: ’We do not negotiate.”
