Milan, Jan. 23 (LaPresse) – Marco Odermatt won the Super-G in Kitzbühel, on the legendary Streif slope, valid for the Men’s Alpine Skiing World Cup. It was a very close race, with almost 20 skiers finishing within one second of each other. Odermatt, with a time of 1’08“41, finished just +0.03” ahead of his compatriot Franjo Von Allmen and +0.25″ ahead of Austria’s Stefan Babinsky. It was a mixed day for Italy: the best of the Azzurri was Mattia Casse in sixth place at +0.40“, while Dominik Paris is currently eighth at +0.45” and the evergreen Christif Innerhofer tenth at +0.57″. The highly anticipated Giovanni Franzoni is out of the top ten, currently 12th at +0.66. Giulio Bosca is last among the Azzurri, 28th at 1.49″. All the best have skied, but the race is still ongoing. Tomorrow, the traditional downhill race is scheduled, one of the most spectacular and eagerly awaited races of the season.
