Bad weather, Meloni: ‘The state stands with the citizens and areas affected’

Rome, 26 January (LaPresse) – At today’s Council of Ministers meeting, the Government approved the declaration of a state of national emergency for Sicily, Sardinia and Calabria, the regions most affected by the recent bad weather. We have simultaneously allocated €100 million for initial emergency measures. The State stands by its citizens and territories. The regions, with their presidents appointed as special commissioners, will have the appropriate means and powers to intervene effectively and promptly. I would like to thank once again Minister Nello Musumeci, the Civil Protection Agency, local administrations and all those working in the sector. In emergencies, Italy knows how to be an even more united community’. This was written on social media by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
