Milan, 27 January (LaPresse) – “In the eyes of many people, I am guilty. The public prosecutor’s office will conduct an investigation and determine the responsibilities of each party, including mine, and I will accept mine. From a human perspective, and without speculating on what the courts will say, I feel the weight of responsibility.” This was stated by the mayor of Crans-Montana, Nicolas Féraid, in an interview with the Swiss news agency Keystone-SDA, which was republished by the Swiss press. ‘I have not yet been questioned. If I am charged, I will accept my responsibilities,’ he added. ‘I have received several death threats. I understand these people who are not getting the answers they hope for and who are suffering. At the same time, the municipal council is looking into the issue of the safety of our employees. Many of them are traumatised by this tragedy. My thoughts are also with them,’ he concluded.
