Naples: Chelsea supporter stabbed in the buttock, condition not serious

Naples, 28 January. (LaPresse) – A Chelsea fan was stabbed last night in Naples. The man reported that he was attacked at around 9 p.m. yesterday while he was in Piazza Santa Maria la Nova, in the historic centre, by a group of people while he was in the company of other English fans who had come to the city for tonight’s Champions League match at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium. One of the attackers allegedly caused a minor injury to his buttock with a bladed weapon. The English fan was treated at the Vecchio Pellegrini hospital, where he was expected to recover in 10 days and from which he has already been discharged. Officers from the Upgsp of the Naples Police Headquarters intervened at the scene. The English club, which in a statement published on its social media channels refers to two injured fans (a circumstance not confirmed by the Neapolitan police headquarters), explains that it is aware of the incident that occurred yesterday evening and reminds its supporters to “exercise extreme caution during their stay in the city and to take note of the advice provided before the match”.
