Berlin (Germany), Jan. 28 (LaPresse) – German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will travel to Italy on February 6 for the opening of the Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo and will attend the opening ceremony of the XXV Winter Games next Friday evening. This was announced by the Office of the Federal Presidency. Additionally, on Saturday Steinmeier will visit the Olympic Village and attend the women’s ice hockey match between Germany and Japan. On Sunday, he is expected to watch the women’s alpine skiing and biathlon events before returning to Berlin in the evening.
