Cinema, Spain awards Susan Sarandon with the International Goya 2026

Madrid (Spain), Jan. 28 (LaPresse) – American actress Susan Sarandon will receive the International Goya 2026, the highest Spanish cinema honor awarded to a foreign artist, on February 28 in Barcelona on the occasion of a special evening celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Goya Awards. The news was announced by the Spanish Academy of Cinematic Arts and Sciences, which awards the prize annually, in a statement. The Academy highlighted Sarandon’s “extraordinary filmography,” “with unforgettable performances in masterpieces as well as in films that are part of popular culture, and her courageous political and social commitment.” “She has, for decades, been one of the most important faces of Hollywood cinema, admired by film enthusiasts around the world,” it said. In previous editions, the award has been given to Cate Blanchett, Juliette Binoche, Sigourney Weaver, and Richard Gere.
