Jerusalem, Jan. 28 (LaPresse) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Sergeant Major Ran Gvili, the last hostage returned from Gaza. The memory of Ran “will continue,” Netanyahu said during the funeral held today, stressing that on Sunday the government approved a plan to promote the establishment of a new community in the Negev “that will commemorate Ran.” The planned community, which will be called Renanim, will be built east of Beersheba and “will express in its name the extent of Ran’s contribution to Israel,” Netanyahu added. This was reported by The Times of Israel.
