Washington, Jan. 31 (LaPresse) – The Trump administration has approved new arms sales to Israel worth $6.67 billion, as tensions rise in the Middle East due to Iran. In a statement, the Department says the supplies “will improve Israel’s ability to address current and future threats, enhancing its capacity to defend borders, vital infrastructure and population centers.” “The United States is committed to ensuring Israel’s security and it is vital to U.S. national interests to help Israel develop and maintain a strong and ready self-defense capability,” the statement reads.
