U.S. approve arms sale to Saudi Arabia for $9 billion: 730 Patriot missiles

Washington, Jan. 31 (LaPresse) – In addition to the new massive arms sales to Israel totaling $6.67 billion, the Trump administration has approved the sale to Saudi Arabia worth $9 billion. The Saudi sale involves 730 Patriot missiles and related equipment that “will support U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives, enhancing the security of an important non-NATO ally that represents a force for political stability and economic progress in the Gulf region,” the State Department said. “This enhanced capability will protect Saudi, U.S., and local allied ground forces and will significantly improve Saudi Arabia’s situation.”
