Iran, Pezeshkian: ‘Ready for negotiations with the US if the atmosphere is free of threats’

Rome, 3 February (LaPresse) – Iran is ready to respond to the US president’s offer of negotiations, provided there is ‘an appropriate atmosphere, free from threats and unreasonable expectations’. This was stated by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in a message published on X. In light of requests from ‘friendly governments in the region,’ Pezeshkian announced that he had instructed the Secretary of State and the Minister of Foreign Affairs to pursue any ‘fair and just’ talks, guided by the principles of ‘dignity, prudence and opportunity’ and in full respect of Iran’s national interests.
