Washington (USA), Feb. 4 (LaPresse) – Colombian President Gustavo Petro described as “positive” the meeting he had with Donald Trump at the White House. “Trump and I can be very different, from a civil and historical point of view, but what unites us is freedom. One can strike a pact for freedom, a pact for life, and that is what was discussed,” Petro said at a press conference, as reported by CNN. Asked what had changed for the presidents to have a friendly meeting after a year of strong tensions between Bogotá and Washington, Petro said they had managed to find “common paths” despite their disagreements. “We discussed specific problems and common paths to follow. He has not changed his mind, nor have I. But a pact is between opposing forces that manage to find common ground,” he stated.
