Jerusalem, Feb. 4 (LaPresse) – A reserve IDF officer was seriously injured by gunfire fired overnight by armed men in the northern Gaza Strip. In response, the army stated that tanks opened fire on the armed men and airstrikes were also carried out. The Israeli armed forces said the incident constitutes a “blatant violation” of the ceasefire. According to the army’s reconstruction reported by Israeli media, the soldiers were attacked while conducting operations on the Israeli side of the Yellow Line, which divides the enclave between areas controlled by Israel and Hamas.
