Milan, 5 February. (LaPresse) – In a letter addressed to their employees, Jacques and Jessica Moretti, owners of Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana, expressed their bitterness towards the ‘media, which is running wild and sometimes spreading serious lies without any restraint’ about the fire that broke out on New Year’s Eve in the bar, killing 41 people. This was reported by FranceInfo, which viewed the letter. ‘One of the most despicable acts was the immediate escape from the bar with the cash register under their arms while we were there, facing chaos, terrified by these scenes of war during that night of horror, trying to provide assistance, especially to some of you,’ the Morettis wrote. “We are deeply hurt by the number of defamatory statements that have been spread. We will continue to cooperate fully and answer all questions to the best of our ability.‘ ’Salaries were paid on 6 January 2026,‘ the couple then points out, ’however, all our business and personal accounts have been frozen and we hope that the Public Prosecutor’s Office will agree to a partial release of funds for the urgent payment of these amounts. For some of you, we have not been able to obtain your bank details. If necessary, you can contact our solicitors, who will forward your request to us.‘ The Morettis conclude: ’We will not abandon you. We are bound by this same fate and will do everything we can to support you.”
