Milan-Cortina: Casse, Schieder and Franzoni lead in second downhill trial

Rome, 5 February (LaPresse) – Three Italian athletes are at the top of the rankings in the second downhill trial of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics in Bormio: Mattia Casse misses a gate and sets the fastest time on an increasingly fast Stelvio in 1’52‘85, followed by Florian Schieder at 0’45 and Giovanni Franzoni at 0″87, second and third in the standings. Just behind them are the Frenchmen Maxence Muzaton and Nils Allegre, tied at 0.99, with Switzerland’s Alexis Monney sixth at 1.16, closely followed by Christof Innerhofer, seventh at 1.18. Dominik Paris slowed considerably and finished 2.03 seconds behind Casse, as did Kriechmayr (+1.83), Odermatt (+2.72) and Von Allmen (+2.87), among others.
