Bormio, 6 February (LaPresse) – The third and final downhill trial on the Stelvio slope in Bormio, which will award the first gold medal of the Games, will see a reduced number of athletes at the start. Many have decided not to take part in the final reconnaissance run after completing the first two trials. Among the Italian team, only Dominik Paris, who is at home on the Stelvio slope (six downhill victories and one Super-G victory in his career), is expected to compete, while the other athletes, from Giovanni Franzoni to Mattia Casse, from Florian Schieder to Christof Innerhofer, have decided to skip the final run. Tomorrow, the Italian quartet chasing the podium will consist of Paris, Franzoni, Schieder and Casse.
