Milan-Cortina: everything is ready for the lighting of the Olympic cauldrons

Rome, 6 February (LaPresse) – A unique opportunity to witness one of the most iconic and symbolic moments of the Olympic Opening Ceremony live: today, in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, it will be possible to participate in the lighting of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Braziers. During the ceremony, the two braziers will be lit simultaneously in two different cities – Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo – for the first time in the history of the Games. This gesture represents the essence of the Milan Cortina 2026 edition, which is capable of uniting territories and communities through sport. The lighting of the braziers, scheduled for 10.30 p.m., will be the culminating and concluding moment of the Olympic Flame’s journey, after 63 days across Italy, and will also mark the official start of the Winter Olympic Games. The braziers are located in two public and highly symbolic places: at the Arco della Pace in Milan and in Piazza Dibona in Cortina d’Ampezzo, allowing citizens and visitors to experience this historic moment live.
