United Kingdom: Police search two Mandelson homes in connection with Epstein case

London (United Kingdom), Feb. 6 (LaPresse/AP) – British police have searched two properties linked to former ambassador Peter Mandelson as part of an investigation into possible wrongdoing related to his dealings with Jeffrey Epstein. Deputy Assistant Commissioner Hayley Stewart of the Metropolitan Police said that “officers from the Met’s Central Specialist Crime team are executing search warrants at two addresses, one in the Wiltshire area and the other in the Camden area.” “The searches are related to an ongoing investigation into alleged wrongdoing in the exercise of public functions, involving a 72-year-old man.” Mandelson, 72, owns homes in Wiltshire, in western England, and in the Camden area of London. Police are investigating Mandelson for possible misconduct in public office in connection with documents suggesting he passed sensitive government information to Epstein about 15 years ago.
