Middle East, IDF: Four armed Palestinians killed after exiting tunnel in Rafah

Jerusalem, Feb. 9 (LaPresse) – The Israeli Defense Forces killed four armed Palestinian men who exited a tunnel and attacked soldiers in Rafah, southern Gaza. The army reported that during clearance operations in the eastern Rafah area, “four terrorists were identified exiting a tunnel and opening fire on the troops of the 7th Armored Brigade.” Israeli soldiers returned fire “and eliminated the four terrorists.” No Israeli casualties were reported in the clash. The IDF stated that the attack constitutes a “blatant violation of the ceasefire” between Israel and Hamas and considers the incident to be of “extreme seriousness.”
