Canada: shooting at a school, 10 dead including the attacker

Vancouver (Canada), Feb. 11 (LaPresse) – In Canada, eight people were killed in a shooting at a school in Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. Among the victims was a woman who, according to police, may have been responsible for the shooting. Two other people were found dead in a nearby house, and authorities believe this to be a related incident. According to police reports, seven people were found dead at the school, including the suspect, who appears to have taken her own life, while an eighth person died while being transported to the hospital. Two other bodies were found in a nearby house. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police added that more than 25 people were injured, including two who were airlifted to hospital with very serious injuries. The town of Tumbler Ridge, which has a population of about 2,400, is located more than 1,000 kilometers north of Vancouver, near the border with Alberta. The provincial government’s website indicates that Tumbler Ridge Secondary School, where the shooting took place, has 175 middle and high school students.
