Paris (France), 11 February (LaPresse/AP) – The Paris Court of Appeal has set 7 July as the date for the verdict in the case of far-right leader Marine Le Pen for misappropriation of European Union funds. The five-week trial ended today. Le Pen, 57, is challenging the March 2025 ruling that found her and other members of her Rassemblement National party guilty of misusing European Parliament funds to hire assistants from 2004 to 2016. She denies being at the centre of a fraudulent scheme to embezzle EU funds.
