Munich Conference: Greenpeace protest against energy dependencies

Munich (Germany), 13 Feb. (LaPresse) – Greenpeace activists staged a spectacular protest on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, climbing a crane about 60 meters high and unfurling a banner reading “Free yourselves from tyrants.” The action aims to denounce Europe’s energy dependence on Russia and the United States for liquefied natural gas. According to the environmental organization, talking about security also means addressing energy policy. Further mobilizations are planned for the days of the conference: at least 21 demonstrations are expected in Munich, with an estimated participation of around 120,000 people.
