Nations League, Italy’s debut on 25 September at home against Belgium

Rome, 13 Feb. (LaPresse) – Italy’s campaign in the fifth edition of the UEFA Nations League will begin on Friday, 25 September against Belgium. After the draw held yesterday in Brussels – which placed Italy in Group 1 of League A with France, Belgium and Turkey – UEFA announced the tournament schedule this morning. The Azzurri will make their debut hosting the Red Devils, then visit Turkey on Monday, 28 September, and France on Friday, 2 October. The first international window of the season, in which Italy will play four times over eleven days, will conclude on Monday, 5 October with the home match against Turkey. In November, the Azzurri will host France (12 November) and then travel to Belgium (15 November) for the last group match. The top two teams will qualify for the quarterfinals, the fourth-placed team will be relegated to League B, and the third-placed team will play a playoff to remain in League A against one of the second-placed teams from League B. Quarterfinals and playoffs are scheduled for March 2027, while the tournament finals will take place in June 2027.
