Milan-Cortina, Vittozzi: ‘Such immense joy, I knew I would become champion’

Milan, 16 February (LaPresse) – ‘I don’t want to talk about sad things, because the joy is too great. I got goosebumps at the end and now my heart is bursting. I showed my best side in this race.’ These were the words of Lisa Vittozzi, who won Olympic gold yesterday in the 10 km biathlon pursuit at the Milan-Cortina Games. ‘It’s wonderful to win in front of my family and my boyfriend. To the little girl Lisa who dreamed of a medal, I would say that it has finally arrived. It was a wonderful day for Italy in many disciplines, we won’t forget it easily,’ added Vittozzi. ‘What keeps me going is never stopping believing in my abilities. I knew I would become an Olympic champion,’ the athlete from Sappada concluded.
