Los Angeles (USA), Feb 16 (LaPresse) – Actor Robert Duvall, known for playing – among others – Tom Hagen in Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘The Godfather’ saga, has died at the age of 95. This was reported by Tmz. His wife Luciana announced the death with a post on Facebook. “Yesterday we said goodbye to my beloved husband, dear friend, and one of the greatest actors of our time. Bob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort,” she wrote. “His passion for his craft was matched only by his deep love for the characters, for a great meal, and for acting. In each of his numerous roles, Bob gave everything to his characters and to the truth of the human spirit they represented.”

Over a career spanning seven decades, Duvall also played iconic roles in films such as ‘Apocalypse Now’ and ‘The Conversation’. In 1984, he won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role as Mac Sledge in Bruce Beresford’s ‘Tender Mercies’.
