Bruce Springsteen announces US tour in March: ‘In defence of American democracy’

Milan, 17 February (LaPresse) – Bruce Springsteen and the Street Band announce the Land Of Hope And Dreams American Tour in the US this spring, which will kick off in Minneapolis at the Target Centre on 31 March for 20 dates, including 19 in arenas, ending on 27 May with an outdoor show at Nationals Park in Washington. Springsteen announced this on his social media channels with a video in which he states: ‘We are living in dark and dangerous times, but don’t despair, the cavalry is coming. Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will take to the stage this spring.’ ‘We’re bringing rock “n” roll to your town in celebration and defence of America and American democracy, American freedom,’ the Boss continues, ‘our American Constitution and our sacred American dream, which are under attack by our would-be king and his rogue government in Washington.’ The tour will begin in Minneapolis, the city that was the scene of ICE’s anti-immigration raids, which Springsteen harshly criticised. He dedicated a song, “Streets of Minneapolis”, to the deaths of two citizens, Alex Pretti and Renee Good, who were killed during the border police’s actions. Everyone, regardless of your beliefs and ideas, is welcome: so join the free republic of the E Street nation for an American spring of rock and roll rebellion. See you there,” concluded the New Jersey rocker.
