Milan-Cortina 2026, Conti and Macii: ‘We have overcome the rift with maturity and are now stronger than before.’

Milan, 18 February (LaPresse) – “It takes a lot of maturity, and I think we’ve shown that. We’ve definitely had a very difficult year of readjusting our balance, but it has led us to be even stronger. We have a wonderful relationship now, we support each other much more, and there are far fewer arguments. I think that at the heart of it all, you need a great deal of maturity and a desire to make things work.” These were the words of Sara Conti, bronze medallist in figure skating with the Italian team at the Milan-Cortina Games, during a visit to Casa Italia. The Italian competed alongside her teammate Nicolò Macii, with whom she also shared a relationship until 2023. Macii also spoke about how the two managed their professional relationship after their break-up: ‘I believe it takes a lot of dedication to work. We have a lot of respect for each other on and off the rink, but we know how much we want it, so we decided to fight together and we came out of this stronger than before.’
